Telemedicine Scheme Announced

Welch Allyn is partnering with Vantage Diagnostics, a new telehealth company, to run a pilot scheme across several primary care practices. Trained nurses use Welch Allyn’s CardioPerfect workstation and telemedicine software to digitally record and transmit electrocardiogram (ECG) traces via a secured server which forwards data to a qualified cardiologist for analysis. This joint service ensures analysis and diagnosis within a matter of hours which assists the Primary Care Trust (PCT) in saving money and reducing patient anxiety.

David Ezra, commercial director of Vantage Diagnostics claims the partnership has saved over 150 hospital attendances.
