TELECARDIOLOGY

Vantage Telecardiology (VTC) enables rapid access to early diagnosis and treatment of patients with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions, reducing unnecessary hospital admissions and achieving significant cost savings.

Cardiovascular disease is the most common and significant serious disease in the developed world. In the UK, it remains the most common cause of death affecting approximately 30% of the population. A recent survey revealed that 54% of all men and 62% of all women over the age of 50 present with one or more of the risk factors for developing a cardiovascular disease.

Potential cardiac problems can be detected and treated at an early stage. Electrocardiograph (ECG) screening is a powerful tool in identifying early signs of coronary disease and/or risk factors that contribute to its development later in life.

VTC utilises the most advanced ECG devices to ensure optimum test accuracy. Resting, Stress or Holter 24 traces are captured and securely transmitted via the Vantage Platform to a team of GMC registered Consultant Cardiologists who deliver a report back within 24 hours.  Integrative with patient record systems, VTC also interfaces with most ECG devices already in place within primary care.  Easy to use, our solution optimises clinician times and reduces administrative procedures associated with paper-based systems.

Implemented in practices nationwide VTC has proven to reduce unnecessary referrals to secondary care and subsequent re-attendances at GP practices. With rapid access to expert opinion, the solution also identifies patients who require an urgent secondary care appointment; in such cases, VTC reports can be digitally forwarded to hospital specialists reducing ‘door to needle’ time and allowing for appropriate treatment to be prepared prior to admission. VTC offers valuable reassurance to referring clinicians and improves patient care and experience. The shift of activity from secondary to primary care through the appropriate triaging of patients delivers significant cost savings and better resource allocation.
